The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization said that an estimated 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted annually in the world where more than 800 million people are counted as chronically hungry or malnourished. According to the report, 54 percent of the world’s food waste occurs during transportation.

Managing perishable goods is not just a major issue for consumers.
